Here's a short piece, just in case you didn't see this on whatever news you watch. It's about responding to Texas trying to redistrict and gerrymander mid-decade instead of at the census when it is usually done. Looks like the Democrats are starting to fight back a bit....

BREAKING: New York Governor Kathy Hochul enrages MAGA world by announcing that she will explore "every option" to redraw her state's congressional maps to balance out Texas' shocking gerrymandering efforts.
Democrats are giving Republicans a taste of their own medicine...
"There's a phrase, 'You have to fight fire with fire.' That is a true statement of how we're feeling right now," Hochul told reporters while standing beside New York State Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie and several Democrats from Texas.
"And as I've said, another overused but applicable phrase, 'All's fair in love and war.' That's why I'm exploring with our leaders every option to redraw our state congressional lines as soon as possible," she continued. She added that her state's legislative leaders are "on board" with her efforts.
"We're already working on a legislative process, reviewing our legal strategies, and we'll do everything in our power to stop this brazen assault," she said.
Over the weekend, Texas state House Democrats evacuated their state to deny Republicans the quorum required to carry out a vote, temporarily blocking them from ramming through a new map that would tilt five districts red. Trump demanded the new map be drawn up to help him maintain control of the House in the upcoming midterm elections.
This redistricting move by Texas Governor Greg Abbott and his flunkies in the state legislature is a blatant attack on democracy itself and would disenfranchise Black and latino voters by diluting their voting power.
New York should absolutely redraw its map to create more blue districts to balance out Texas' efforts. California's Governor Gavin Newsom has already announced plans to explore redistricting as well.
