Now that the Democratic President-Vice President ticket is set, and Vice President Biden with Senator Harris are going to be the Democratic ticket on the November ballot, this is a good time to remind everyone:
1. We are not just voting for President!
2. We are voting to prevent a 7-2 dangerous conservative majority on the Supreme Court. Note: 87 year old Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg is single-handedly fighting off all 10 plagues so she can hang on until we have a new president. This alone should be enough for historic turnout!
3. We are voting for the next Secretary of Education, Housing Secretary and Attorney General, et al.
4. We are voting for the "down" ballot, as well: to keep the House and to gain majority of the Senate in Congress.
5. We are voting for federal judges.
6. We are voting for the rule of law.
7. We are voting to save our national parks.
8. We are voting to let kids out of cages.
9. We are voting for clean air and clean water.
10. We are voting for scientists to be allowed to speak and do something to protect us from climate change and pandemics.
11. We are voting for greater transparency and confidence that the President isn't using our tax dollars as a slush fund for his family and friends.
12. We are voting for housing rights.
13. We are voting for formerly incarcerated persons to be treated with dignity and assisted to be proud and productive members of society when they return.
14. We are voting for everyone to be able to adopt a child without a lot of red tape.
15. We are voting for Dreamers.
16. We are voting so that there will be Social Security and Medicare when we retire...and in our children's future.
17. We are voting for veterans to get the care they deserve.
18. We are voting for rural hospitals.
19. We are voting so that everyone can have access to affordable health insurance.
20. We are voting for teaching to be treated like the noble profession that it is, and for teachers to be paid like the heroes they are.
21. We are voting to have a President & Vice President who respect facts, speak truth, and are not continual embarrassments.
22. And, we are voting against allowing the USA to become yet another authoritarian regime.
23. We are voting for sensible gun laws.
24. We ae voting for children born to Military Troops overseas to still be counted as US citizens.
25. We are voting to curb homelessness and find solutions to provide affordable housing.
26. We are voting to take measures to end racial asset and wealth disparities.
27. We are voting to defend women's reproductive rights and a woman's right to make all health related decisions regarding her body.
28. We are voting to acknowledge the humanity and protect the safety of our family and friends in the LGBTQ+ community.
29. We are voting to stop the normalization of white supremacy and dangerous bigotry in the mainstream.
30. We are voting to rebuild a functional CDC to help prevent or eradicate dangerous pandemics like this new coronavirus.
We probably don't agree on everything, but each of us must now choose, either to elect President Biden & Vice President Harris, or to allow the current occupants to continue their MAGA campaign for another four years!
The Biden-Harris ticket isn't perfect. No ticket ever was, nor ever will be. If, perhaps, Vice President Biden and/or Senator Harris don't pass your purity test, you certainly must know they will be better than four more years of 45! We must *all* do *all* we can to ensure that the Biden-Harris team wins!!
