A White House Official Just Admitted The Real Reason For Trump's Transgender Military Ban
Today, via Twitter President Trump abruptly told thousands of transgender service members in the U.S. military, "you're fired!"
While Trump claimed his decision was about military decisiveness, mitigating cost, and eliminating distraction, he offered no evidence to support the claim.
Axios reporter Jonathan Swan asked a Trump administration official what the real reason for the ban was, and the aide confessed that the president's motives were purely political.
"This forces Democrats in rust belt states like Ohio, Michigan, and Wisconsin to take complete ownership of the issue," the official said. "How will the blue collar voters in these states respond when senators up for reelection in 2018, like Debbie Stabenow, are forced to make this a key plank in their campaigns."
This importance of this startling admission cannot be overstated. First, it reveals that the President of the United States is exploiting not only the LGBT community but the armed services to score political points.
