ANS -- Societies are typically organized along one of two lines: “We” or “Me.”

This is from Thom Hartmann.  He says, "Societies are typically organized along one of two lines: "We" or "Me.""   I think this is a similar analysis to the Moral Mode 1 and Moral Mode 2 analysis.  There are others too: George Lakoff's  "Strict Father and Nurturant Parent", Patricia Evans' "Reality I and Reality II", John Gray's "Men are from Mars, women are from Venus". The political Authoritarian or hierarchical versus Egalitarian, and maybe even the sociological "internal conscience versus external conscience".  I'm sure there are more.   I find it interesting that so many analyses break it down into two opposite wordviews, and that they are so similar.  Here is Hartmann's version, as applied to the current political situation.
