If you are not following politics closely, you may not have heard of Project 2025. I suggest you inform yourself about it.

I heard today that 70% of Americans have never heard of Project 2025, the 900+ page authoritarian handbook for dismantling our democracy published by the Heritage Foundation and championed by Donald Trump and the Republican Party. If they get the chance, they will turn the federal government into a partisan machine designed to systematically dismantle every agency and program ever designed to protect people and the planet from corporate greed. Social security will be gutted. Unions will be crushed and the right to organize gutted. Civil rights, environmental protections, and access to health care will be gutted. Law enforcement and the military will be weaponized against dissent. And that is just the tip of the iceberg.
This post is not to invite debate. It is merely to alert anyone here who would like to see our national experiment in democracy survive long enough to perhaps fulfill its promise. If you are one of those people, you can and should do your own research. Just to get you started, I've put a link to the Wiki article on Project 2025 in the comments.
