This is an 18 minute video you HAVE TO watch. It's a TED talk about what motivates us. It refers to business, but it probably applies to other stuff. There are several things the information implies that he does not say -- like, maybe paying CEOs too much is killing creativity in business, and a guaranteed basic income would work and not make people lazy (as the tests have shown).
